Long Bay Beach offers perfect conditions

While there are a number of good spots, Long Bay Beach has ideal conditions. Its has shallow water extending hundreds of meters into the sea. In addition, Long Bay Beach is several kilometres long. Ocean swells are low even when the wind really picks up. So, kiteboarders out there, this is a place for you.

While sitting lazy in my chair on the beach in front of Caicias Villas, I watched as they start setting up the kites.

After all the effort the kiters have gone through, I understand their effort when I see them sailing over the water. It looks so easy.

Ever considered kiteboarding?

Well, you will not find a better place. There are a couple of very professional and well equipped kiteboarding schools. I had a good experience with KiteProvo. But there are plenty of others around in the area. One of them being the guys in front of the HO2 hotel just next door to Caicias Villas. They pass for one of the best right now.

Learning kiteboarding myself

I have attempted to get into this intriguing sport on other occasions. However, being a novice, I found it rather frustrating to control the kite, my board, getting out of the water with no ground to steady myself and looking at the wind. And, on top of all this, trying not to drown.

A lot easier on Long Bay Beach in Providenciales

I decided to give it a try. After a little while, I actually managed to get out of the water for few meters. So, there is hope that maybe one day I will be expert enough to get on a foil or even venture out on a night of full moon as I have seen the experts do.

Chilling after all this effort

After a while my muscles would start aching from the attempts of mastering kiteboarding. So it was time to relax and soak in the amazing water. A little later, I went for some SUP. Conditions were perfect.

My accommodation in Caicias Villas on Providenciales

I stayed at Caicias Villas, a fabulous accommodation on Long Bay Beach. The owners have recently enlarged its beach front property from three to five self contained villas. They have also included a pool, a gym, and a patting green. If travelling to Providenciales on the Turks and Caicos, I would definitely recommend it.
